Sony to Confirm Xperia Z Ultra Wi-Fi Only in Full before Official Launch
Sony wants total exclusivity even before the release of a new product like in this case, the mighty Xperia Z Ultra. The smartphone is supposed to be more of a thablet, with its gigantic size. The release of this so called smartphone was prepared even from the early start of this month, when Sony was bragging about the launch of the new version of the Xperia Z Ultra, for the Wi-Fi version only. It is all about a 6.4-inch tablet or smartphone, being considered the off limit smartphone ever made; the smartphone that can`t get bigger than this. In case it does, we might also refer it as a thablet.
As our source mentions, the Sony Xperia comes with some new features to consider. I am talking about a Snapdragon 800 with cellular radio off, but yet coming with a very cheap Wi-Fi in tablet-size Ultra model. We are also referring at the model number SGP412 Z Ultra, a smartphone-tablet-sized device coming with wonderful specs and features.
The sources also mentions the Z Ultra coming with specs like a 6.4-inch inch IPS display and the above mentioned Snapdragon 800 chip, sporting 2GB of RAM and a rather small 3000mAh battery. The smartphone retains the waterproofing capabilities as the pictures show the device standing in shallow water.
The other Z Ultra is the model SOL24, making the device a Japanese variant. Some early FCC documentation show that the Sony smartphone manufacturer is preparing to launch these new models very soon. Perhaps the Sony is preparing the grounds for the Mobile World Congress in Spain, due next month, or is the company anxious enough to let the world know about its forthcoming army of thablet-sized smartphones?
