Motorola Moto G 2014 – Full Specs and Features
Motorola has just introduced the next generation of the Moto G, which was alleged called the Moto G2, but in fact, it is named simply Moto G. The new devices have been improved and enhanced in many ways compared to the last iteration, in what concerns the hardware part but also.
The handset is already available on Motorola’s online store, and users can order it unlocked and off contract, as well as get it from most US retailers. It is also available in India, Brazil, and certain countries from Europe, such as France, UK, Spain, and Germany. Other countries and carriers will get the device later this year. The price for the Moto G will go for 250 euros or 330 USD for the 8 GB model.
Regarding the specs, Moto G will come out of the box running 4.4 KitKat, and with the option to upgrade it to L Android version when it will be released. The display is 5.0-inch with 720 HD 720 x 1280-pixel resolution and 294 ppi. The company used Gorilla Glass to make the device even more resistant.
The processor is 1.2 GHz Quad-Core snapdragon and the graphic board, Adreno 305 GPU. The Ram Memory is a little bit too small compared to other mid-range devices, but 1 GB LP DDR2 will definitely be enough for daily activities. Moto G will come with 8 GB of internal storage (native), but there is the possibility to add up to 32 GB with a MicroSD card placed under the removable rear cover. The embedded battery is 2070 mAh that promises up to two full days of juice.
Perhaps you are thinking that the Moto G was not being upgraded at all. When the second version differs is regarding the camera feature. Now, the device will display a 8 MP rear camera and 2 MP front-facing camera, with video capture for both front and the back options. The connectivity aspect is pretty much the same: WI-Fi feature, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, USB 2.0 HS, 1 or 2 Micro SIMs (it depends on SKU).
With a weight of 149 grams, Motorola’s new handset is measured at 70.7 mm width and 141.5 mm height. What it might be worth mentioning is the extra sound feature. The handset comes with 2 speakers with noise cancellation supported, and double 12 x 15 x 3.0 front ported speakers.
All signs suggest the fact that the Moto G or Moto G2 as many people still calls it, will arrive in time for Christmas. So far, we have seen the retail box for the “Moto G2” labeled as Moto G on the box, and it has been spotted in a Flipkart warehouse in India.
