Samsung Gear S Coming to Sprint on November 7 and T-Mobile November 9
Samsung recently announced that the Gear S will be available in the US market starting with the next year. More specifically, the smart watch will hit Sprint on November 7 and T-Mobile on November 9. In the same time, the device will be available on Best Buy, as well as AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless brick-and-mortar stores.
What separates this smartwatch from other is the curved AMOLED display as well as its 3G cellular connectivity. The Gear S represents, in fact, many other things: Samsung’s first SIM-enables smartwatch, Samsung’s first smartwatch with a virtual keyboard and perhaps Samsung’s last opening in an unknown territory.
Featuring a 2-inch curved SAMOLED display, an active mobile data connection via SIM (3G), an accelerometer, QWERTY keyboard software, UV sensor, barometer, S-Voice , heart rate monitor, GPS and IP67 for dust and water resistance, and in the last part 4GB of internal memory. Based on its interior, we might even consider the S Gear a Smartphone that goes on your wrist instead of your pocket. The only thing that is missing is the camera.
Regarding its coverage in the US, the device will be available at Sprint for 0$ down (plus tax) and 24 monthly payments of $16($384 excluding taxes). There is also a $10 monthly charge when you add it to the Sprint Family Share pack. Also, the carrier will be offering the device under these circumstances to any plan of 20 GB or more.
On the other hand, T-Mobile’ offer is a little less. The device will be available again at a 0$ down payment and $14.58 for 24 months. The total price is somehow less to $349 excluding taxes. They are offering 500 MB of data for $5 per month.
The Samsung S Gear will be available on all the already-mentioned carriers in black and white. Official pricing is yet to be announced to all vendors, but, considering Sprint and T-Mobile’s offerings, it will be available for roughly around $300.
