How to Activate Wireless PowerShare on Galaxy S10

The new Samsung flagship family, announced during the first Unpacked event in 2019, has just come into the hands of users. You see that the race for customization has already begun. After the fantastic backgrounds created to hide the holes in the displays containing the front cameras, people start to be preoccupied about the battery life as well.

Samsung seems to be very confident in the battery in the Galaxy S10 that it’s letting you give away some of your precious percentage points. I am talking about the new feature called Wireless PowerShare which lets you literally turn your S10 into a wireless charging mat so you can power up your Galaxy Watch, Buds, or another Qi-enabled phone just by laying it on the back of the S10.

Activate Wireless PowerShare on Galaxy S10

First of all, just pull down the notification bar to reveal a list of quick toggles. Then, tap the one labeled Wireless PowerShare to turn it on. A message explaining how to use PowerShare will appear on the screen as long as that feature is in use.

Now, you may flip the device over and place something on its backside to start the flow of power. When you want to turn PowerShare off, simply tap Cancel near the bottom of the screen.

However, keep in mind that it’s not fast wireless charging by any stretch of the imagination. It’s at 4.5W which, so it is half of what Qi wireless chargers are normally rated to, which is 9-10W. At the same time, Samsung’s Fast Charge wireless charging is rated at 7.5W on the Wireless Charger Duo. So, you’ll most likely gain about 10 percent charge on a Qi-enabled smartphone in 30 minutes with Wireless PowerShare.

In such a context, this feature is best utilized for devices with smaller batteries. After all, while you can charge another phone wirelessly, the feature is designed primarily to allow the S10 to charge accessories like the Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watch.
