Samsung wants to make some real revolutionary changes that would mark a new era of smartphone technology. The company has recently stated that the need for a switch from the ordinary AMOLED displays to PLS-LCD ones is serious business, as the move would actually reduce the costs of the devices` structure, up to 20%, without worrying that the change would affect the resolution of the display. This shift might directly involve the recent Samsung flagships such as Galaxy S5 and Note 3. The idea might be a great one, since the phone manufacturer already uses PLS-LCD displays on Nexus 10 and Galaxy Note 10.

Another consideration of using PLS-LCD displays other than the reduced costs concerns the new rising smartphone manufacturers like Oppo, Xiaomi or Vivo, that are already using the above mentioned displays. Huawei and Lenovo are also facing success with their rocket prices.
