Sony has just officially revealed the successor of its original Xperia Z1 tablet and we were curios to find out the latest details. The company has clearly mentioned that it tries to set a new standard in tablet innovation, but has it succeeded? That’s exactly what we are trying to find out. Do you know that the original Xperia Z1 is powered by a quad-core S4 Pro CPU? Well, things have changed at this chapter and unfortunately, not in the way that you might be first expecting. The new Xperia Tablet Z2 houses a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 CPU, but let’s just say that the company tries to compensate that by other specs. You’ll immediately understand of what we are talking about if you continue reading:
Better Specs, excepting Lower Processor
Xperia Tablet Z2 boasts a 10.1-inch Full HD TRILUMINOS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, also coming with X-Reality technology, while the 8.1MP main rear camera is accompanied by a secondary 2.2MP front-facing camera too. And don’t forget that Xperia Tablet Z2 includes both digital-noise cancelling technology and Sony Front Surround audio technology, which means that it successfully reduces up to 98% of ambient noise when paired with the right headset.
Moreover, we like that this new tablet version is so sleek and portable, as long as the company has changed its thickness from 6.9mm to just 6.4mm, as well as and the weight to 426g for the Wi-Fi model and 439g for the LTE/3G model from the initial 495g. And Xperia Tablet Z2 comes with support for a variety of new accessories including a keyboard cover if you want to use it as laptop, running on Android 4.4, just as initially rumored.
Release Date Details
As you have seen, we haven’t shared with you any details regarding the full device dimensions or the on-board storage of our Xperia Tablet Z2 that we have here and the story seems similar when it comes to its release date too. But we have strong reasons to believe that the Wi-Fi variant will become available from March, with the 3G variant following soon after.
