AT&T’s HTC One Mini Getting its Android 4.4 KitKat

Are there any AT&T’s HTC One Mini owners worried about the lack of any information regarding the Android 4.4 KitKat update? Well, there is no reason to be worried about that as long as Executive Director of Product Management at HTC USA has jutst officially announced on Twitter that Android 4.4.2 KitKat for the One Mini has successfully passed AT&T testing and the carrier is going to offer us the KitKat update via an over-the-air by the end of this week. But the surprise is that some users have already reported receiving it, so AT&T’s HTC One Mini Android 4.4 KitKat is rolling as we are speacking.

AT&T’s HTC One Mini Android 4.4 KitKat Enhancements

As many of you probably now, the Android 4.4 KitKat version comes with a set of enhancements such as a new full-screen immersive mode, color emoji support, restyled status and navigation bars, smarter power use, not to mention that your AT&T’s HTC One Mini has a new Phone dialer app, the handset now having the ability to look up contacts directly from the dial pad and search corporate directories easier than ever.

Moreover, the E-mail looks similar to Gmail and even allows in-line editing, not to mention that you can click on the camera app icon on the lock screen for quick access to the camera app. As for the new Immersive mode from KitKat, it enables full screen viewing of videos, books, or games.

And don’t forget that this Android 4.4 KitKat doesn’t come alone, but along with Sense 5.5, which is also expected to bring new features to the user interface such as BlinkFeed and the dialer app. So, if you haven’t received any notification on your  HTC One Mini up to now, you can simply try to get the update, by going into Settings>About Phone>System Updates>Download.

As for HTC One Max owners, we can only encourage you to have more patience. After offering the KitKat update to this HTC One Mini version, is more than likely for the US carriers to start paying some attention to your device as well, so we’ll be soon back with fresh details.
