Galaxy Gear 2 already being developed?
The Galaxy Gear was just released earlier this month. However, Samsung is already planning on releasing the Galaxy Gear 2, which was tipped to be released in Q1 next year. It seems that the first product is a success, so why not try? The device did have its flaws, like rather short battery life and a somehow big price. But the company intends on fixing the problems with its second handset from the category. That being said, it seems that Samsung has already started developing the Galaxy Gear 2, and it’s said to come with longer battery life and a GPS chip.
According to our source, the upcoming device is also said to be compatible with more Android smartphones than the first, this being another plus, as the Galaxy Gear can only be used with the Galaxy Note 3. Also, rumors say that the first has been a trial model to see how people react to such a gadget, and that the Galaxy Gear 2 is actually the real thing. Samsung is expected to unveil the new smartwatch at CES in January or at MWC in February 2014. The Galaxy Gear was announced for release at T-Mobile and Verizon, earlier this month.
The Galaxy Gear holds a 1.9MP camera and comes with 12 apps, with 70 other more in development. It sports a 1.63-inch display with a resolution of 320 x 320, is 11.1mm thick and weighs in at 73.8 grams. The smartwatch includes a 315 mAh battery and the charging is done with an included cradle. You’ll get 4GB of storage along with an 800MHz Exynox processor and 512MB of RAM. The watch connects to the Galaxy Note 3 through Bluetooth LE connection and it’s running a custom version of Android. And the Galaxy Gear 2 will be even better. I can’t wait for it! What do you think?
