HTC Confirms HTC One in Gold
After multiple rumors and news regarding the portfolio of products, HTC has officially introduced the world to a gold variant of its popular One device. Following Apple’s example, the company has decided that now it is the time to have a wider array of colors for its beloved HTC One handset. The golden version goes alongside with the silver, black, red, and blue versions. However, this version does not mean that the device is plated with the precious metal; rather the chassis has only been treated with a “champagne” color.
It is worth mentioning the fact that this latest HTC release is only limited to actually covering the hardware parts in a champagne colored coating. Customers should be aware of the fact that the technical capabilities and underlying performance of the device remain unchanged. The golden version only brings a more festive season appearance.
Those who will choose the gold color instead of the classic black and white, or the colorful red and blue will still get the same Snapdragon 600 processor, the 1080 pixel display, and the same Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box. However, it is worth mentioning the fact that the device will benefit from a KitKat update at the middle of January 2014.
HTC made the official press announcement from London, and the company stated that the gold-colored hardware would be available across multiple other European countries through a number of partners. The company failed to announce some official release dates as well as names for the alleged partners and networks that will stock the new device. Nonetheless, with the Christmas season approaching, I am sure that you all will be able to get the new “luxurious” device somewhere in December.
As some of you might be aware of, the HTC one won internationally recognition for its stunning design. Its unibody design and now with the glamorous color will definitely gather people’s attention. This latest addition to the HTC family comes with all the features of the standard HTC One, including HTC Zoe, HTC BlinkFeed and HTC BoomSound. There is no news yet regarding the official pricing, but we all can assume that it will reflect the prices of the current HTC One color options.
With this latest trend for golden smart devices, as seen in the case of Apple with the iPhone 5S and Samsung with its Galaxy S4, the most probably is that HTC One Gold will definitely make its way through this market of sophisticated handsets.
