Samsung SM-G900A – The AT&T Variant of Galaxy S5?

The famous Korean smartphone manufacturer has given the possibility for different major carriers, especially from the United States to test out different versions of its devices, in this case, about the forth-coming Samsung Galaxy S5. I am particularly referring to the AT&T carrier, the major US network that is seemingly testing a version of the Samsung Galaxy S5. The rumors were revealed on Twitter by @evleaks, stating that AT&T is planning to test a supposed Galaxy S5, named SM-G900A, a device which would sport a high-resolution screen. Other variants of the Galaxy S5 were also been put for tests, as in the case of the SM-G900S and also SM-G900F, which were also supposed to be some ultra-super premium variants, but instead, they might end up being nothing but just simple models for different carriers.

To dig in a little deeper, let`s state some specs of the two different versions mentioned (SM-G900S and SM-G900F), to make us a general idea on how the SM-G900A would look.

The SM-G900S as a display resolution of 2560×1440, with the S5`s Snapdragon 800 processor and an upgraded 2.5GHz. The device is running on Android 4.4 KitKat. On the other hand, the other so alleged SM-G900F is supposed to have the same Snapdragon 800 but with 3GB of RAM, which would score somewhere under the iPhone5 or the Galaxy Note 3.

Going back to our story, the SM-G900A is only in a testing phase, and would sport the same AMOLED display of 2560×1440 pixels and other S5 specs, meaning that this is not mandatory for the benchmark to be rolled out. Smartphones are being tested by different carriers, deciding on the specs that the Samsung is imposing.

I don`t want to leave S5 without mentioning one of its great specs: a Snapdragon 800/805 with 64-bit processor, AMOLED display of 2,560×1,440 resolution, 3 GB of RAM, and a 16MP rear camera. The device will be running on Android 4.4 KiKat.

As our source mentions, some rumors state that the Galaxy S5 might have a sooner launch than the Galaxy S4 did back in 2013, but it is too soon to state when exactly the S5 flagship will be rolled out.
