Logitech Announces K480 Keyboard For Smartphones and Tablets
Wireless keyboards are not that of a novelty these days, but, now and then, a new one comes to stand in front of the others, with new features and new possibilities. This is the case of the latest wireless keyboard presented by Logitech.
The Bluetooth keyboard is capable of doubling as a dock for a Smartphone or tablet. The new K480 from Logitech is provided with enough space to hole two devices simultaneously, so long as the size of each is appropriate, something like a 5-inch Smartphone and an 8-inch tablet combo. However, everything depends on the size of your own smart devices.
Besides two mobile devices, the Logitech K480 can also pair a laptop or desktop, making it rather handy for a number of different situations. The wireless keyboard comes with the possibility to store multiple devices, and its slot space puts the devices in an upright position for a better handling.
Logitech K480 is, in fact, a full-size desk keyboard with a standard layout and the usual shortcut keys. As I mentioned above, it uses Bluetooth to connect different devices at once, and it does not matter the operating system they are running. Users can connect two devices running OS like Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Android, or iOS. The keyboard also features an Easy-Switch dial, which allows users to quickly switch between the connected devices and start typing on the one they want.
The whole idea behind this concept is to allow users to use the keyboard to reply to Whatsapp messages on their Smartphone, and then to use the Easy-Switch feature to move back to their laptops or tablets. The Switch feature is not new for Logitech, since they already used it on previous keyboard along the same lines. However, the difference is that the K480 keyboard gives users the space to dock a Smartphone or tablet for easy working.
“The Logitech Bluetooth Multi-Device Keyboard K480 makes it simple for people to work, create or communicate quickly and comfortably, no matter what computing device or platform they are using,” said Charlotte Johs, global VP of computer peripherals, Logitech.
The Logitech K480 wireless keyboard will become available for purchase in the US and Europe starting with September 2014, in black and white options, for a price of £49.99.
