LG Enact – new JB mid-range handset for Verizon
It’s been a while since Verizon and LG started releasing mid-range devices together. The latest is the LG Enact, which comes with 4 capacitive buttons. The handset might feature Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or above, according to our source. The device supports 4G LTE and will probably arrive close to the end of the year, at a low price on-contract. Additional connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi. The upcoming LG model number VS890 secretly keeps all the rest of the features and release date. The smartphone is rumored to feature a display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus or a Snapdragon 400 processor.
We might also be looking at 512MB / 1GB RAM for an approximate $200 price tag. Chrome for Android is available as an app on the device’s home screen. It has been recently updated with full screen tablet browsing (also available for phones) and automatic page translation via Google Translate. Version 28.0.1500.64 has been promoted to the stable channel, now rolling out to devices via Google Play. There’s also a new optimized interface for RTL languages (including Arabic, Farsi, and Hebrew) and performance fixes. Other apps are also kept secret so far.
The LG Enact follows the series of LG mid-range smartphones for Verizon: the Lucid, Spectrum and Revolution were out there before. According to Verizon clients, the carrier has one of the best LTE coverages. The LG Enact’s specs are similar to those of the Moto X, so we might be looking at a contest between the two, sometimes soon. We are really curious about the rest of the specs, the off-contract price and many other info, so we can’t wait for the device to be officially released. Until then, if you hear anything else besides what we told you, please let us know.
