LG G3 Beat is Officially Revealed with Larger Display and Laser AF Camera
LG has officially revealed its new G3 Beat, a version of its flagship smartphone, the G3. We can tell you from the start that we think that this handset has all the necessary key-elements for becoming a success. As the company claims, this device is prepared to offer us a similar premium user experience as the original version, also having a sophisticated metallic design, coming with Laser Auto Focus technology and even with a larger display than it has been initially expected.
The same Floating Arc Design in a Compact Package for LG G3 Beat
The G3 Beat carries the same design language as that of the G3, but in a much more compact package. To be more precise, it measures no more than 137.7 x 69.6 x 10.3mm and weighs about 134 grams, which are decent choices for its size.
To be honest, we were not expecting to discover that LG G3 Beat will come with the same Floating Arc Design that has been first unveiled on the LG G3, but we like the surprise. Its smooth curved sides and gradually tapered edges can offer you the chance to comfortable use it.
More Specs and Features
LG G3 Beat sports a 5-inch display with a maximum resolution of no less than 1280 x 720 pixels, so we are talking about a pixel density of 294 pixels per inch with a screen-to-body ratio of 74.1%. In these conditions, we don’t only have a largest-in-class 5.0-inch HD IPS display, but also a screen-to-body ratio which is actually the highest in the mid-tier smartphone segment.
LG G3 Beat also comes equipped with a robust 2,540mAh battery and it houses a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor paired with 1GB of RAM and has 8GB of internal memory. The device also packs a microSD card slot for memory expansion, so don’t worry about this small number; you’ll still manage to change it and add as much as you might need for your photos, videos, files, music and other data.
LG G3 Beat has an 8 megapixel sensor at the back that seems to be very special. As we have told you from the title, it has a Laser Auto Focus which enables the handset to focus special moments of your life even faster than before by measuring the distance between the subject and the camera using a laser beam.
Connectivity options of the G3 Beat include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS with Glonass and NFC, as well as 4G LTE and HSPA+ with download speeds up to 21Mbps. As for the OS that this LG G3 Beat has, it is practically the same version that can be found on the original handset, with the smartphone running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat; but let’s not leave aside some of its special features such as Touch & Shoot which gives us the chance to touch anywhere on the display to focus and shoot, reducing a two-step process to just one or Gesture Shot which allows as to clench our hand in front of the screen to automatically begin a three-second countdown before the picture is finally snapped.
LG G3 Beat will debut on July 18 in South Korea
Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “The LG G3 Beat represents our commitment to the mid-tier smartphone market that demands mature technology, proven branding, great innovation and attractive price, all in a single device” and we must admit that the device is indeed impressive. Are you thinking of buying it?
