Motorola Sets up Lollipop Update Tracking Page
Recently after the Android 5.0 Lollipop update has been announced, Motorola was among the first smartphones manufacturers to announce that they would be updating their majority of Android devices to the new OS, as soon as they could. This statement is now consolidated by their official tracking page for each and one of their devices.
Motorola states that the company will bring the update to both first and second generation Moto X handsets, 1st and 2nd gen Moto G devices, the Moto G with 4G LTE, Moto E, Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini. Regarding the release date, Motorola says it is “still working out the details on timing and the upgrade depends on their partners”. This means that users need to stay closed to their software upgrade pages for the latest and greatest news.
This is not the first time when Motorola tries to keep their fans and customers up to date with their services. In the past, we have seen a similar page from Motorola, regarding the KitKat software update. Nothing big is changed with the latest one. Here, users will be able to access a list of the known devices that will receive Android 5.0 Lollipop, and they can search out for their own devices, if not already listed.
If you are running any generation or version of the Moto G or Moto X, find out that Lollipop update is right around the corner. The Moto E will also receive the alleged update along with the Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini.
Even if the announcement regarding the incoming Android update to their device is a certain thing, we still do not know when that might happen yet. There is no estimated time frame to see exactly when the update will hit out devices. In this respect, Motorola only suggested that the states and delivery dates are subject to the limitations of carriers and partners.
Head over to the Motorola Update page to see if your device is on the list for the incoming Android 5.0 Lollipop. Check the list and stay tuned for more news regarding each Motorola device and the release date for the Android update.
