Android 4.4.3 Rumored to Arrive in the Following Weeks, in Dogfooding Stage for Now
Rumors about an upcoming Android 4.4.3 have been bouncing around for some time now, and it seems that the update might be coming in the following weeks. We also tend to believe the latest rumor since it comes from some reliable sources. Android 4.4.3 is also known as the KitKat MR2 (with the Android 4.4.1 and the 4.4.2 known as KitKat MR1), and it has recently entered into a “dogfooding stage”, meaning that one percent of the Google employees get the chance to test the firmware.
The testing of the Android 4.4.3 or the dogfooding if you like, is being carried out right now on a limited number of devices like the Nexus lineup: Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 2012, Nexus 7 2013 and Nexus 10. More handsets would follow, like the Moto X and the GPE.
If the tests prove to be successful, then the dogfooding would eventually expand to a larger percentage of Google employees, with the final release of the Android 4.4.3 in the following weeks.
