Unlock the Flappy Droid Game on your Android 9.0 Pie Device
You know that Google usually names its new flavors of Android alphabetically and after something sugary. For example, the previous Android version was called Oreo. Before that, we had Nougat, preceded by Marshmallow and Lollipop. Officially, Google is calling it Android 9 Pie and it is the sweetest version ever. There’s a whole lot new in Android Pie, so I cannot even decide what my favorite is.
However, something familiar never hurts once in a while and here I am to tell you that the popular Flappy Droid game is still around in Android 9.0 Pie. First introduced in 5.0 Lollipop, the game was supossed to be nothing more than the easter egg for the new Android update, but with the Lollipop and Marshmallow versions, this Easter egg was actually turned into a Flappy Bird-clone mini game. Now, it seems that Pie continues this tradition and I love that it’s stil there, waiting to be discovered.
If you also want to find the game on your handset, you’ll need an activity launcher to create a widget assigned to a shortcut. At the moment, not all popular activity launcher apps aren working on Android 9.0, therefore the easiest method is to use one that you know for sure that it works with no problems, such as Nova Launcher, of course. Then, here’s what you have to do:
Unlock the Flappy Droid Game on your Android 9.0 Pie Device:
- First of all, install Nova Launcher from the Play Store if you don’t already have it on your device;
- With Nova Launcher open, you have to long press the home screen;
- Now, choose Widgets;
- Under the section for Nova Launcher, it’s time to select the Activities option;
- Up next, scroll down until you find a drop-down menu for System UI. Choose it right away;
- Then, select Marshmallow Land;
- Once selected, the widget will change to a “P” icon. All you have to do is to tap1 this precise icon to launch the game;
- After tapping the widget, select the Play button to start the game and have fun
