How to Get Pixel 3’s Night Sight Mode on your Xiaomi Poco F1

Google’s line of Pixel smartphones has always been highly praised for its photography capabilities. Therefore, it wasn’t much of a surprise to see Google including various special features and different camera tricks to the highly-anticipated smartphones of this year. For example, we have bold official claims that the Night Sight feature can significantly brighten up poorly lit situations for a clearer picture and tests reveal that they are more than simple claims. It’s actually happening!

The Night Sight feature is finally set to take the low-light photography on the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL to new levels as it effectively lets the phone camera see in the dark. If you own one of these two devices, then you are lucky. This doesn’t require any additional hardware or cost as Night Sight is a new camera mode for Pixel phones currently rolling out in a new update.

If your Pixel handset is stable and the scene is still, Night Sight will spend more time capturing light to minimize noise; if Pixel is moving or there’s significant scene motion, then Night Sight will use shorter exposures, capturing less light to minimize the motion blur.

The result is nearly perfect, but do you know that you can also get the very same Night Sight Mode on your Xiaomi Poco F1? The new port is designed to work on Android Pie ROMs as well as MIUI Android Pie Beta ROMs. And that’s not all that you are getting, but features are included too, such as ZSL HDR+, portrait mode on the front and the back camera, HDR+ Enhanced, as well as up to 4K video recording support at 30fps frame rate.

I must warn you that people have indicated there are a few bugs related to EIS, video focus and slow-motion quality coming along with this port, yet I don’t see them as being an actual problem. The app does not install over the default camera app, but you can install the app alongside the stock camera app. If you like the sound of it, download the APK installer file with no hesitation on your Poco device.

The feature works impressively well. With night settings, Night Sight brightens up scenes with accurate colors and lighting sources that are so realistic. Well, it is true that cameras will always need some light to take a picture, but when taking photos in a dark room with very little light, your Xiaomi Poco F1 can now capture objects pretty clearly.
