Rumor: First Android Laptop to be Released by HP
Since now, Android has been the most popular and used OS installed on portable and touch based devices, such as smartphones and tablets. This is happening due to Google Play which is offering various free distributed apps, Google’s market being the best especially when we compare it with Microsoft’s Windows Store.
So, what would you say if I will tell you that an Android featured laptop manufactured by HP is being prepared for a soon to come release?
Probably you will say that this is a tablet with an un-removable keyboard dock and you will not be entirely wrong. Why? Well, because even though Android OS is a great platform to use on portable devices like smartphones or tablets, when we talk about the business segment Microsoft is still a huge giant and you can’t really compete with it – despite the new Windows 8 release, which wants to link the desktop segment with the tablet and smartphone area.
Anyway, related to our subject, you should know that a new rumor has been leaked saying that HP is preparing to release an Android powered laptop. This new Android device should be running a quad-core NVIDIA chip along with a 14 inch 1080p display. The Slatebook 14 hasn’t been confirmed by HP until now, but we are expecting an official statement from HP as we speak.
So, is the Android based HP Slatebook 14 something real, or just another rumor that will turn out to be only a “soon to come” promise? And if the Slatebook 14 will be released along Android OS, will you buy such a device, or you rather prefer a Windows powered laptop instead?
I think that an Android featured laptop will be great only if Google will develop and release a compatible and dedicated OS which to support Google Play and other in built features that are pre-installed on Android firmware.
