Moto 360 With Metal Band Available for Pre-Order on Verizon

Verizon Wireless has put the metal-banded version of the Moto 360 smartwatch up for pre-order. If you visit the carrier’s official websites, you will see both the white (steel) and black version of Moto’s smartwear available for pre-order for $299.99. The carrier stated that they would ship the product by November 11 of this year.

The Moto 360 was originally introduced with both leather and metal bands, but the leather models were shipped first. If you have the leather option and you want to change it with a metal one, it is possible. However, you will need to pay an extra $79.99 on top of what you already paid for the Moto 360. According to Motorola, users will be able to change the included band with any other 22 mm strap, but, as expected, it will not look the same, since the original one was intended for the respective model.

Regarding the device, the manufacturer said that the wireless charging dock as been designed with metal bands also in mind, so prospective buyers do not have to worry about their smartwatches not fitting their favorite band. Also, the use of non-certified metal bands with the Moto 360 might be actually dangerous since this might affect the radio antenna hidden inside the watch’s bezels.

In case you forget, let me remind you in a few words the most important Moto 360 specs and features. The smart watch has 512 MP of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage. These options are powered by a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, also found in the Gear Live and LG G Watch.

It weighs a little less than the competition, but it is just 1.56 LCD, which makes it accessible, especially with the protective Gorilla Glass 3. This is not the previously rumored Sapphire Glass, with a higher hardness level, almost four times than the Gorilla Glass, which protects many of today’s smartphones. Motorola Moto 360 is ready for workout with an optical heart rate sensor and other useful sensors and features.

That said, Moto 360 is now available for pre-order on Verizon, but it will also be available on Best Buy and Motorola pretty soon. You can wait for the official release, or you can sign up for a pre-order right now.
