Next Nexus 7 for pre-order on Best Buy
It seems like Best Buy wants to make some profit before Google unwraps its new device, as the website is already offering the Next Nexus 7 for pre-order, for the following prices: $229.99 for 16GB and $269.99 for 32GB. The device only comes with WiFi at the time, with no word on the LTE-capable version. The device was manufactured by ASUS and will be officially released by Google at the event this evening. We believe that tomorrow we’ll be able of giving you all the information you’d like to know about the upcoming tablet that we believe will be perfect for internet browsing and taking photos, although it’s kind of funny to raise such a big device in order to photograph.
According to our source, Google is also going to present Android 4.3 on today’s event. Regarding the tablet, it looks like microUSB is still the preferred method of plugging in, and it’s centered in the bottom edge of the tablet. (this is one of the areas in which we saw changes between prototype and finished product in the original Nexus 7). The power button and volume rocker are situated in the same way as on the current Nexus 7. Other features include the dual speakers, referred to as “upper” and “lower” speakers. They’re positioned on the rear of the tablet, with one near the USB port.
Regarding the specs, Best Buy offers us some details like:
- 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU
- 2GB of RAM
- 7.9×4.5×0.3 inches
- 11.2 ounces
- 7-inch, 1920×1200 display
- 16/32GB of storage
- 1.2MP front-facing camera, 5MP rear camera
- Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS
- Bluetooth 4.0 support
- WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n
The tablet will also come with a 4,000mAh battery and 4G LTE connectivity. The screen seems to indicate slightly less bezel than on the existing Nexus 7. We knew Google wouldn’t disappoint us. And the price tags are great. So, dear tablet, we’re expecting your arrival on the shelves.
