Discover Galaxy Note 9 Secure Folder
There could be plenty of things on your phone that you don’t want anyone else to see. I’m not here to judge, but I actually know how important your passwords are or those crazy photos from the last night party. They are way too personal to be accidentally deleted by your kid or seen by your nosy friend looking at your latest dog photos. Well, with the new Note 9, you have a way to keep specific files away from prying eyes.
You should take your time to discover Secure Folder which comes as a feature for encrypting apps and files tied into Samsung’s Knox security platform. This is actually a separate storage partition on your Note 9 with its own set of digital locks. Not only can you use a PIN or pattern or password to unlock the folder, but you can even require fingerprint recognition for extra security.
What I love is that everything in Secure Folder is kept separate from the rest of the phone, so only you can access it. However, I must warn you about something. I know how excited you must be about this device, but if your Note 9 detects any rooting or custom ROMs, Secure Folder will automatically lock-up in order to prevent unauthorised access, in which case you will no longer be able to access or use the contents within Secure Folder.
If you plan performing such sort of procedures, please make sure you back up any important applications or data elsewhere, such as on your personal computer, before moving them to Secure Folder. Samsung is not responsible for any data loss or inaccessibility, but you are!
Procedure:
- You can get started by opening Secure Folder in your app drawer;
- Sign into your Samsung account;
- Select a secure unlock method to create the folder;
- Up to this point, you can store your private files and apps safely. It’s actually incredibly easy to move apps and data by tapping “Move to Secure Folder” or by importing them via “Add files” from the Secure Folder;
- To lock the folder, just tap the Lock icon;
- You can also change the Secure Folder icon and label to make it more stealthy.
