HTC Desire 8 To Be Officially Revealed on Feb. 24
We have previously heard several speculations regarding the upcoming HTC Desire 8, but only now that the device has just been confirmed by the manufacturer on its Sina Weibo account we can take things seriously. As you can see by yourself, here we have a screenshot of this HTC Desire 8 coming along with a second image showing us the date and time when this device is going to be officially revealed: 10am, on 24 February, at the Mobile World Congress event from Barcelona. But that’s not all that we can tell you about it; previous leaks seem to be pretty accurate, so we invite you to discover more:
Plastic body
There is something that we want to tell you from the start: unlike its HTC One bigger brother shining in its metal body, this Desire 8 appears have trade a metal body for a much cheaper plastic one. So, we already have a clue that we might be talking about a mid-range handset, which is though about to come not only in white, but in other color options as well including, yellow, orange, cyan, or red.
Display, camera, stereo front-facing speakers
In terms of technical specs, HTC Desire 8 is expected to come with a 5.5-inch display, being slightly smaller than the popular HTC One Max, but the pixel resolution is still unknown at this point. MyDrivers, a well-known Chinese smartphone leaks site has also reported that there are big chances for this handset to include a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 5-megapixel one ready to come with a so called ‘beautification’ mode; but once again we have no further details regarding on what this mode is and what is supposed to do.
There is no surprise that we are also expecting to find stereo front-facing speakers when the device is revealed, something that has almost become a signature of HTC devices.
Finally, don’t forget that the company is seriously taking in consideration the possibility of offering us the popular Android 4.4 KitKat on its alleged HTC Desire 8, as the product manager has recently confirmed in an interview, so be sure that we’ll keep you updated.
