Automatically Turn off Data Connections for a Given Time-frame on Datally

Datally was launched in November to help people in emerging markets with limited data and now it seems that Google is updating its data-saving Android app Datally to give you more ways to control how you use data on your Android device. Before this update, the app had basic functionality like identifying the apps that use the most data and the times when you see the most data usage, along with tips on minimizing data usage and a special button for ending all background data usage.

Now, the app is tuning into a real mobile data manager that will help you monitor, save, and gain control of your data by getting several new features including the ability to automatically turn off data connections for a given time-frame. One of the features is called as ‘Bedtime Mode’ and as you can guess, it basically enables the users’ smartphone to automatically set daily data usage limits.

Do you like the idea too as you are struggling not to go over your data limit every month? Then, let me assure you that it is very simple to control the Bedtime Mode with a start and end time. The feature can further be paused as per the user’s requirements. And even better, you can also implement the new feature in tandem with the Android Pie’s Digital Wellbeing/ DND mode so that you can get some break from the digital platform even if it is only for a few hours during the night or while in a trip.

Even more, now, instead of simply suggesting nearby Wi-Fi networks, Datally also offers a map, so that you get a better signal, not to mention the feature called ‘Emergency Bank’ which lets you set up data reserve for emergency situations or the guest mode that lets you limit how much data a friend in need borrowing your phone can actually use.

Yes, I know that some of these features were already available inside Android settings, but Datally made them more noticeable with big buttons just waiting to be used. So, if you haven’t done that already, grab the Datally app from the Play Store.
