Android Market Share Still In Front of Apple in the US, Slightly Down for the 2013 Quarter 4
Reports concerning the last year`s market share, shows Android to hold the overall supremacy on the market, with a slightly down for the Q4. As comScore reveals, Android is being ahead all operating systems in the US at the end of the last year. The Top Smartphone Platform clearly indicates that compared with September 2013, Android has a slight drop down with 0.3 percent for December, with Apple behind gaining 1.2 percent for the same period. Blackberry and Microsoft are spotted in the third and fourth places with 0.4 percent and respectively 0.2 percent down for December.
Concerning the smartphone manufacturers, Apple is still the US leading company, holding almost 41.8 percent of the market, followed by Samsung with a short distance of 26.1 percent. The platform shows an upper percentage for Samsung for the 4th quarter, which is not pretty bad for the Korean manufacturer.
As our source also reveals, the third place is taken by Motorola, with quite a long distance from the second place, holding around 6.7 percent of the market shares, positioning itself a little bit higher than the folks from LG owing 6.6 percent and the Chinese HTC with 5.7 percent.
