WhatsApp: How to Save your Limited Data Allowance
From browsing the web, to streaming videos, from using social media to reading online news, these are all eating up your phone’s data allowance. Unless you’re lucky enough to have an unlimited plan, there’s a good chance you find yourself rationing the usage at the end of each month. Or, should I say in the middle of it? That’s a nightmare!
Have you ever found yourself exceeding your data allowance on your phone? Perhaps you thought everything was okay, but didn’t realize that you had exceeded your data limit until the bill arrived. This is something that you must prevent from ever happening again, right?
I don’t know about you, but WhatsApp feels like a place I can call home these days. WhatsApp simplicity won me over and there’s no day going by without using it. It has a great Broadcast list for broadcasting single messages to multiple persons at a time using a single tap and I use it send audio and video messages up to 16Mb. I can obviously send unlimited messages across the world using WhatsApp and I even rely on it for sending my location accurately.
Speaking of the huge elephant in the room, the app shouldn’t cause so many problems. WhatsApp requires less bandwidth and much simpler configuration mobile devices to function properly than other similar apps. Facebook Messenger, on the contrary, is a heavy application that requires better connectivity and a good smartphone to perform properly.
And if you’ve got that limited data allowance that we’ve talked about, you don’t want WhatsApp munching it all away. The best part is that you can customize when media is allowed to download, as well as ensure that calls use as little data as possible.
Save your Limited Data Allowance:
- Open WhatsApp;
- Tap Menu;
- Then, enter into Settings > Data and Storage Usage;
- Hit Media Auto-Download;
- Now, you can switch to Wi-Fi only to save your data.
That’s what I had prepared for your today. And a lot more is on the works. C’mon, visit us later since there’s plenty that you still don’t know about WhatsApp.
