Turn Off the Shelf to the Left of your OnePlus 7 Pro Home Screen

OnePlus has revealed its latest OnePlus 7 Pro. As you might expect, the new OnePlus flagship comes to impress. The Oxygen OS has always been a real OnePlus strength because it’s designed in line with the global taste, doesn’t stuff features to the extent it becomes overwhelming, and has all the necessary basics. The powerful hardware and capable software beautifully go along too and you don’t have to pay a fortune to buy the device.

Even though it does share many of the same features with its predecessors, the 7 Pro handset also brings a few new tricks to the table. We’re sure you have the basics down, but we’re here to help you get the most out of your new smartphone with a new trick.

I don’t know about you, but one thing I don’t like about Oxygen OS is the Shelf which replaces Google’s Discover feed on the left-most homescreen pane.

Give it a go and decide for yourself

Shelf is essentially a page on your home screen that lets you take memos, add widgets, gain access to your most-used apps, and get a quick glimpse of the weather.

To some users, Shelf might be little more than expected or needed. Some say that with a bit of attention and knowledge about how to work with it, Shelf can actually be quite useful. You may add and remove widgets from Shelf, add your memos/reminders and so on. Just give it a go, and see if you don’t wind up making the most of it.
No matter what I try, I don’t find it useful or at least pleasant and decided to turn it off. You can clearly do the same.

Don’t like the Shelf and you have already decided to let it go? This Shelf option can be disabled from your home screen settings. All you have to do is find an empty spot on your home screen and long press it. Done? Now, select the Home Screen settings and toggle the Shelf button to Off.
